CEREC Technology

CEREC stands for "Chair-side Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics". The system is completely digital. First, we scan the area to be restored with a three-dimensional camera and design your restoration to specification. While you wait, the CEREC machine efficiently and precisely mills your restoration from a solid piece of biocompatible dental ceramic. We verify, prepare, and permanently install your restoration in just one visit.

Our expert Calgary dental staff is happy to discuss and explain the pros, cons, risks, and benefits of CEREC crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays. We pride ourselves on making dental recommendations that keep your best interests in mind.

Dental Crowns

What are dental crowns?

A dental crown, or dental cap as it is sometimes called, is a dental restoration that covers the entire tooth to strengthen a tooth that has been weakened. It looks, feels, and functions like your natural tooth.

CEREC crowns make it possible for a broken tooth to be repaired and look and feel natural. They do not stain, are wear-resistant, and very long-lasting.

When is a dental crown needed?

A tooth is considered to be weakened when a considerable portion of it has been replaced with filling material, usually due to a large cavity or a root canal. Teeth with large fillings that replace entire cusps or undermine cusps of teeth are best crowned before they break apart. Sometimes a tooth will be cracked, which also necessitates a dental crown.

Dental Veneers

What are dental veneers?

A dental veneer is a thin layer of natural looking ceramic that we carefully place on your teeth to improve your smile.

CEREC veneers can be applied to the front of teeth to create a brand new smile. They do not stain, are wear-resistant, and very long-lasting.

When is a dental veneer needed?

They can be used to close gaps, change the shape and colour of your teeth, and even straighten teeth without orthodontics. We can do anywhere from just one to all your front teeth to give you the smile you want.
