Implants and Bridges

What are your options for replacing missing teeth?

Implants

Dental implants allow us to replace a missing tooth with a bio-compatible titanium screw that osseo-integrates with your body. Osseo-integration is the process of your jaw bone naturally growing into and meshing with the biocompatible titanium. Implants can also be used to stabilize loose dentures. We will treatment plan and restore dental implants in conjunction with top surgeons. We believe in using the highest quality materials and the latest procedures to deliver you lasting results. Once the implant is placed, we affix a crown to the implant. The crown will have the look, feel, and function of a natural tooth.

Bridge

A dental bridge is the joining of teeth around a gap with an artificial tooth to permanently replace missing teeth. The teeth on either side are capped in a process similar to crowning teeth, then a tooth connects them together. This method of replacing teeth is quick and does not require surgery, though it does mean that flossing will require a threader to place the floss under the bridge, and it does involve preparing the neighbouring teeth.

Which option is better? This answer changes based on your specific situation. An implant is easier to keep clean and it doesn’t involve additional treatment on the neighbouring teeth. However, placing a bridge is a less invasive procedure and can provide the benefit of strengthening the neighbouring teeth if they need it. The cost difference before insurance is not significant, but insurance plans can cover more of one option over another. Make an appointment with us to discuss your options and what works best for you.
