CEREC Crowns

Calgary CEREC Dentistry

CEREC technology allows for single visit dentistry for ceramic crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays, using a biocompatible ceramic. This dental ceramic or dental porcelain is aesthetic, strong and durable. CEREC crowns make it possible for a broken tooth to be repaired and look and feel natural. CEREC veneers can be applied to the front of teeth to create a brand new smile.

What are dental crowns?

A dental crown, or dental cap as it is sometimes called, is a dental restoration that covers the entire tooth to strengthen a tooth that has been weakened. It looks, feels, and functions like your natural tooth.

When is a dental crown needed?

A tooth is considered to be weakened when a considerable portion of it has been replaced with filling material, usually due to a large cavity or a root canal. Teeth with large fillings that replace entire cusps or undermine cusps of teeth are best crowned before they break apart. Sometimes a tooth will be cracked, which also necessitates a dental crown.

What are dental veneers?

A dental crown, or dental cap as it is sometimes called, is a dental restoration that covers the entire tooth to strengthen a tooth that has been weakened. It looks, feels, and functions like your natural tooth.

When is a dental crown needed?

A dental veneer is a thin layer of natural looking ceramic that we carefully place on your teeth to improve your smile. CEREC veneers do not stain, are wear-resistant, and are very long lasting. They can be used to close gaps, change the shape and colour of your teeth, and even straighten teeth without orthodontics. We can do anywhere from just one to all your front teeth to give you the smile you want.

Our expert Calgary dental staff is happy to discuss the pros and cons, risks and benefits, of CEREC crowns, CEREC veneers and CEREC inlays and onlays with you.
